چکیده

Physical wave functions for the nucleon and the ∆+ isobar are presented, which unify the best features of previous models. With these wave functions we can calculate elastic form factors and the decays of the charmonium levels S1, P1, P2 into pp̄ in agreement with the data. A striking scaling behavior between R = |GM|/G p M and the coefficient B4 of the Appell polynomial decomposition of the nucleon distribution amplitude is found; the implications for elastic nucleon cross sections are

Studying the production or decay processes of heavy quarkonia (the bound state of heavy quark-antiquark) is a powerful tool to test our understanding of strong interaction dynamics and QCD theory. Fragmentation is the dominant production mechanism for heavy quarkonia with large transverse momentum. The fragmentation refers to the production process of a parton with high transverse momentum whic...

On Character Space of the Algebra of BSE-functions

Suppose that $A$ is a semi-simple and commutative Banach algebra. In this paper we try to characterize the character space of the Banach algebra $C_{rm{BSE}}(Delta(A))$ consisting of all  BSE-functions on $Delta(A)$ where $Delta(A)$ denotes the character space of $A$. Indeed, in the case that $A=C_0(X)$ where $X$ is a non-empty locally compact Hausdroff space, we give a complete characterizatio...

Spin-polarization response functions in high-energy „e¢ ,e8,p¢ ... reactions

Spin-polarization response functions for the high-energy (eW ,e8pW ) reaction are examined by computing all 18 response functions for proton kinetic energies of 0.515 and 3.170 GeV from an O target. The Dirac eikonal formalism is applied to account for the final-state interactions. It is found to yield the response functions in good agreement with those calculated by partial-wave expansion at 0...

Dashen-Frautschi Fiasco and Historical Roadmap for Strings

In 1964, Dashen and Frautschi published two papers in the Physical Review claiming that they calculated the neutron-proton mass difference. It was once regarded as a history-making calculation, in view of the fact that the proton and neutron had been and still are regarded as the same particle with different electromagnetic properties. However, their calculation was shown to be based on a bound...

Spin-polarization response functions are examined for high-energy (−→e , e′−→p ) reaction by computing the full 18 response functions for the proton kinetic energy Tp′ = 0.515 GeV and 3.179 GeV with an 16O target. The Dirac eikonal formalism is applied to account for the final-state interactions. The formalism is found to yield the response functions in good agreement with those calculated by t...
